Authorities in Southern California have apprehended an armed individual discovered patrolling the grounds of a golf course owned by former President Donald Trump. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele, is now facing multiple state and federal charges after investigators uncovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and tactical gear.

The incident began on Sunday when plainclothes federal agents spotted Taele acting suspiciously at the Trump National Golf Course. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Taele was observed wandering the premises while recording video and taking photographs. Investigators believe he was intentionally monitoring the security-planning activities being conducted in preparation for the upcoming presidential visit.
Upon confronting Taele, law enforcement officials discovered he was already being sought by the El Segundo Police Department in connection with a local robbery. A search of his person and his vehicle, which was parked at the golf course, yielded a loaded pistol and a 16-round magazine. Notably, the magazine contained hollow-point ammunition—projectiles designed to expand upon impact to cause maximum tissue damage—which are subject to strict regulations.
Following the initial arrest, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Major Crimes Bureau of the Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Taele’s residence in Downey. Inside the home, investigators found an illegally modified AR-style rifle, a .45-caliber handgun, body armor, and several high-capacity magazines. Perhaps most concerning to officials was the discovery of multiple notebooks containing what they described as “concerning statements.”
